We’ve always been so proud of Stilwell.  From its beginning, our goal was to not only make Stilwell like a second home, but to make sure it was beautiful on the outside, comfortable and modern on the inside.  Most of all, it must be safe and secure, and a place that residents would be proud of.

Through generous support of benefactors, donations from family, friends and residents, Stilwell has updated its facility many times since it’s founding.  As a result, our residents’ suites are modern, our entire facility is updated, and our grounds are beautiful.

Stilwell’s reputation for fine dining is known throughout the community.  Our dining staff has combined delicious and wholesome menus with phenomenal service to make mealtime a truly special event at Stilwell.

Lou Annie Mangrum, our head cook of over 44 years, has poured her soul into cooking for our residents.  Our meals are like eating in someone’s home and are very definitely not institutional type food.  A select menu, choice of seating times and prompt service helps make dining at Stilwell into a special time.  Delicious describes our menu, healthy is our by-word.

Caring, concerned, professional.  Our staff is here to serve you.  We’re from the Waco area, not a national chain.  Decisions are made locally and issues are taken care of promptly.

Most of the Stilwell staff have worked here for many years.  They are familiar with our facility, our residents and are eager to work hand in hand with our management.

Stilwell staff monitors a 24 hour emergency call system.  Each suite is supplied with an emergency system remote control for the safety, security, and peace of mind of our residents and their loved ones.

From our friendly front desk folks, to our housekeeping, bus driver, maintenance, dining and management team, we’re here to help you and assure you of an excellent Stilwell experience.

Affordable

Our residents will tell you; Stilwell is “the best bargain in town”.  With all that Stilwell has to offer, perhaps the biggest benefit is the price.  All meals, maintenance service, weekly housekeeping, basic utilities, access to our 24 hour emergency alert system, plus a wide variety of activities and programs are all included in one monthly rate!  Our rates are lower than similar retirement facilities, plus we do not charge entrance fees or a deposit or require a lease.

Single Studio Suite

Just the right size for one person, with ample closet space, a built-in bookcase & desk, linen closet, and private bath, plus a mini-kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator & storage space.  There’s even a separate storage locker for off-season clothing, boxes, etc.  We supply the carpeting and drapes, and residents bring their own furnishings.

Stilwell Express & Transportation

One of our special perks for residents is covered parking for your car.  Each space is assigned exclusively for a resident’s use; it even has a sign with your name!  Your car is protected from bad weather and you always have a space.

If your desire is to “leave the driving to us”, hop in and enjoy the Stilwell Express.  All residents are welcome to take advantage of our mini-bus service.  Our bus has loads of room, it’s easy to board and has its own lift for folks that need additional assistance in coming on board.

The Stilwell Express will take you to the doctor, shopping, to an event, wherever in Waco you desire and of course, we’ll pick you up and bring you home too!
